TimeFlyZ Babies Shine In Their Debut Performance
It was an exciting start to 2017 as we made our way to Ryton on Saturday 21st January. Not only was this our first competition of the year, but also the first time racing in open competition for Neo, Hartley and Bella. With two teams entered it was a busy day for us all – although it was still a challenge to keep warm between races in the low temperatures!
TimeFlyZ put in some strong performances early on; Neo did brilliantly as start dog for the first few races, and Nera, Flicka and Logan were consistent throughout, achieving some impressive times. Unfortunately both Neo and Flicka had to be withdrawn from racing later in the day, leaving us with just two dogs in the final race.
TimeShift put in some solid performances throughout the day. We rotated the dogs within each race, with Roxy and Bella alternating as start dog. Other than a couple of minor distractions (other dogs, children, stray balls!) our babies did brilliantly, putting in some consistent times and some great changes! It was the first time racing in open competition for some of our handlers too, so there was a lot to get to grips with, but they coped fantastically.
Overall, all of our babies – and their handlers – did amazingly in their debut competition, and we can’t wait for their next performance!
This was another great competition hosted by WOW, with a friendly, sporting atmosphere amongst the teams. Whilst we didn’t achieve a division win this time out, both teams gained some valuable ring experience, and we’re looking forward to putting in some fantastic performances throughout 2017.
