TimeFlyZ – a look back at our Autumn and Winter Season
Following the UKFL Championships earlier this year, TimeFlyZ have been knuckling down to training and planning ahead for 2019. We have seen some amazing progression of our young dogs, and can finally start putting them together with our seasoned dogs to create three solid teams.
Individually, we have been focusing on areas for improvement, working on start-line consistency for Bella and Deena, reducing prop dependency for Roxy and lengthening strides from the box for the spaniels. Logan has been back to basics to improve his box technique, Wibble has been challenged to within an inch of his life by flying balls everywhere and Skwish has been nailing his turn. We have finally found Gus’s greatest reward in the form of plastic bottles, which has really helped him focus his whippet brain, and Neo has also been back to basics, re-igniting his love for flyball! Switch showed us how she can keep her cool in a ring environment, maintaining her snappy box turn and crazy boy Phaze blew us all away when he pulled a 3.54 second PB out of the bag – twice! Last but not least, Nera has been a superstar, taking a change of handler in her stride and always giving her 110%.
We have competed at several competitions throughout autumn and winter, and although we haven’t come away with armfuls of rosettes, we have reason to be proud of every single one of the dogs and handlers in our team. We are so excited to hit the lanes running in 2019 and put our ‘behind the scenes’ hard work into practice. We have had not one, but two shiny new boxes made, which our dogs are transitioning to nicely.
The team are excited to continue our partnership with sponsors Green Pantry and Seraquin next year. We would like to say a special thank-you to team sponsor Cambridgeshire Canine Massage for rehabilitating Badger this season following a non-flyball related injury. Thankfully he has made a full recovery and will be joining us in the lanes next year.
We are looking forward to seeing our flyball friends, furry or otherwise, in the lanes next year! In the meantime, we wish you and your familes all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
